It appears as if DC is steadily moving all its upcoming works to HBO Max. Titans have also debuted a live-action version of Aqualad, but this iteration is named Garth. More properties are on the way, which includes The Batman spin-off series about The Penguin. Doom Patrol, Titans, and Harley Quinn Show have all moved to the streaming platform. HBO Max has been garnering many DC properties after DC Universe shut down. This new Aqualad show will also be made by Warner Bros and will premiere on HBO Max. So far there are no writers attached to the project, only a group of producers that includes Charlize Theron amongst its ranks. Through the discovery of his powers, Hyde finds himself falling in love with the swim captain of the high school team, Kenny Liu. He then begins to develop his powers more which include being able to breathe underwater and being able to manipulate water. He is a gay teenager from New Mexico, where he is constantly surrounded by desert, and he longs to escape the desert and be around the water. The origin story for Aqualad will be concerned with Jake Hyde’s unnatural connection to the ocean.
